How do I manage member roles and remove members?

Go to Sidebar → Settings → Team Members — next to each person you can click Make Admin, Demote to Member, or Remove, depending on your own role.

Before you start

  • You need to be an Owner or Admin of the workspace. The page says it directly: "Manage who has access to this workspace."
  • To add new people first, see the invite guide — this article covers what happens after someone has joined.

What each role can do

The Role permissions section at the bottom of the page summarizes the three main roles:

  • Owner — "Full access. Can manage billing, delete workspace, and transfer ownership."
  • Admin — "Can manage members, connections, and all campaign operations."
  • Member — "Can view data, run audits, and create draft changes for approval."

You may also see a Client badge on some accounts — a limited role for agency clients. It can't be assigned from this page; the invite form and role buttons only offer Member and Admin.

Who can manage whom: an Owner can change or remove anyone except themselves. An Admin can only manage people with the Member role — never the Owner, other Admins, or themselves.

Steps

  1. Open Team Members

Use Sidebar → Settings → Team Members. Your own row is marked "(you)".

  2. Change a role

On a Member's row, click Make Admin to promote them. On an Admin's row (Owner only), click Demote to Member. A toast confirms: "Member role updated."

  3. Remove a member

Click Remove on their row. A "Remove member" dialog asks you to confirm and warns: "They will lose all access immediately." Click Remove again to confirm.

What happens next

  • The role badge next to the person's name updates right away, and their permissions change on their next action — no re-login needed.
  • A removed member disappears from the list and you see the confirmation " has been removed." They lose access to the workspace immediately.

Gotchas

You can't change or remove the Owner, and you can't edit your own row — those buttons simply don't appear. If you need to hand over the workspace, ownership transfer is an Owner-level action, not a role change on this page.

If you're an Admin and see no buttons next to another Admin, that's by design: Admins can only manage Members. Ask the Owner to make the change.
