How fresh is my campaign data, and how do I sync it?

Decisa pulls campaign data from your ad platforms automatically and shows a freshness pill on the Dashboard; if today's Google or Meta spend looks stale, click "Sync today" on the linked account row or open the account's campaign list and click "Sync".

Before you start

  • A workspace with at least one ad account linked under Sidebar → Connections — nothing syncs until an account is linked (see "How do I connect my Google Ads account?").
  • Syncing is read-only: it refreshes what Decisa knows about your campaigns. It never changes anything on the ad platform.

Steps

  1. Check the freshness pill on the Dashboard

Open Sidebar → Dashboard. Next to the reporting period you'll see a small pill with a colored dot, an ad account name, and a relative time (for example, 2 hours ago). Green means up to date, amber means slightly stale, red means stale or a failed sync.

  2. Hover for the details

Hovering the pill shows the exact "Last synced" timestamp. If the most recent sync failed, the pill shows failed in red and the tooltip includes the failure reason — that message usually tells you exactly what to fix.

  3. Refresh today's spend from the connection page

Go to Sidebar → Connections, open the connection (for example, Google or Meta) to see its detail page, then click "Sync today" on the linked ad account card you want to refresh. Decisa shows "Sync queued. Today's spend will refresh when the sync finishes." and keeps checking the account metrics after the background sync starts.

  4. Or open the campaign list

Click "View Campaigns" on the linked ad account card, then click "Sync" in the top-right of the campaign list. The button shows a spinner while the request is in flight, and the list reloads once the sync is triggered. On a freshly linked account with no campaigns yet, the page shows "No live campaigns" with the hint "Sync <account name> to import existing campaigns, or create a new one." (your linked account's name appears in the text) — click "Sync now" there.

What happens next

  • The sync runs in the background and the connection metrics refresh again after the queued sync has time to write today's rows.
  • The Dashboard pill re-checks about once a minute, so it turns green shortly after a successful sync.
  • If the sync fails, the pill shows failed — hover it to read the reason before retrying.

Gotchas

The freshness pill always shows your most out-of-date account, not an average. Green means every linked account is fresh; red means at least one account needs attention — hover the pill to see which one, then sync that account specifically.

  • Connecting Google alone is not enough: if no ad account is linked, there is nothing to sync and pages stay empty. Link accounts under Sidebar → Connections first.
  • A pill reading never synced means that account has never completed a pull — trigger one manually with "Sync" and watch whether it turns green or reports a failure reason.
  • Small lags are normal: ad platforms themselves report spend with a delay, so numbers from the last few hours can shift even right after a sync. If Decisa and the platform disagree over longer periods, see "Why don't my ROAS numbers match the ad platform?".
