How do I create a tracked UTM short link?

Open UTM Links under Attribution, build your link in the Build a link card, press Create short link, then copy the short URL — every click on it is recorded with its UTMs.

Before you start

  • Access to a workspace. Creating your first UTM link is one of the actions that switches the Attribution module on for that workspace.
  • The full URL of the page you want visitors to land on.

Steps

  1. Open UTM Links

Use Sidebar → Attribution → UTM Links. The page is titled UTM Builder.

  2. Pick a starting point in Build a link

Choose By ad platform to pre-fill the right UTM template for Facebook, Google, TikTok, or Kwai ads, or Custom short link to fill everything in yourself.

  3. Set the destination and UTM parameters

Paste your landing page into Destination URL. Under UTM parameters, fill in Source, Medium, and Campaign (for example google / cpc / summer_launch). The Resolved destination preview on the right shows the exact URL visitors will land on. You can also give the short link a memorable Custom slug (optional).

  4. Create short link

Press Create short link. The new link appears under Your links — click the copy icon (Copy short URL) next to it and share that short URL in your ads, bio, or emails.

What happens next

  • The link shows up in Your links with its short URL, destination, UTM chips, and creation date.
  • Anyone who opens the short URL is redirected to your destination with the UTMs attached, and the click is recorded under Sidebar → Attribution → Clicks — including which source, medium, and campaign brought it in.
  • Those recorded clicks are what later tie orders back to your campaigns in your reports.
  • Need a similar link next week? Use Reuse as template on any row to load its values back into the builder.

Gotchas

Copy full URL in the builder copies the long, tagged destination URL — it does not create a short link. It is handy for pasting straight into an ads manager, but the trackable short URL only exists after you press Create short link.

Deleting a link (Delete short link?) stops the redirect immediately and the slug can never be reused — anyone still clicking it hits a dead end. Clicks already recorded stay in your reports. Don't delete links that are still live in ads, bios, or emails.

Keep UTM naming consistent: summer_launch and Summer-Launch show up as two different campaigns in your reports. Pick one lowercase, underscore style and stick to it.
