How do I manage ad groups and ads?

Open a campaign to see its ad groups, click an ad group to see its ads, and use Pause, Enable, or Budget on any row — every action creates a draft you review before anything changes on the ad platform.

Before you start

  • A workspace with the Campaign Management module active and at least one connected ad account.
  • Campaigns already synced into Decisa — if a list looks empty, click Refresh on the campaigns page first.

Steps

  1. Open a campaign

Go to Sidebar → Campaigns inside your ad account and click a campaign. Its page shows performance metrics plus two cards: "Ad Groups" and "Keywords".

  2. Drill the Meta hierarchy

On Meta accounts, you move through the Campaign → Ad set → Ad hierarchy with the level tabs above the campaigns table — "Campaigns", "Ad sets", "Ads" — not a full-screen focus view (that is gone). Click "Enter" on a campaign's ⋯ menu (or an ad-set name) to drill down; each level shows spend, clicks, IC, conversions, and ROAS. See campaign detail for the full drill walkthrough.

  3. Browse the Ad Groups card

Each row shows the ad group's status, how many keywords and ads it contains, and its bid. Each row has inline actions: Pause or Enable, and — on Meta and TikTok campaigns — Budget.

  4. Change an ad group budget

Clicking Budget opens the "Update daily budget" dialog. Decisa reminds you: "This creates a changeset that requires approval before the ad set budget changes on the platform." After saving, Decisa takes you straight to the new draft changeset's page so you can review it.

  5. Drill into an ad group

Click the ad group's name to open its own page (use "← Back to campaign" to return). The header offers Pause ad group or Enable ad group, and the "Ads" card lists every ad with its creative, headline, and destination link.

  6. Pause or enable individual ads

Each ad row has its own Pause or Enable button. To act on several ads at once, tick their checkboxes — a bar appears to pause or enable the whole selection as a single draft.

What happens next

  • Every action — pausing, enabling, or a budget change — creates a draft changeset, and Decisa takes you straight to its page.
  • Nothing changes on Google, Meta, or TikTok yet. The draft still needs Submit for Approval, an admin's approval, and Apply Changes before it goes live.
  • Once applied, the new status or budget shows up on the ad group and ad rows after the next sync.

Gotchas

Clicking Pause does not pause anything by itself — it only creates a draft. If an ad keeps spending after you "paused" it, the draft is probably still sitting unapproved in Changesets. Open it and walk it through approval and Apply Changes.

The Budget button on ad group rows only appears for Meta and TikTok campaigns. On Google Ads, budgets live at the campaign level — use the campaign's own Budget action instead.

Seeing "No ads in this ad group."? The ads may simply not be synced yet — run a sync on the ad account and check back.
